Adriana Lima Has a New Givenchy Ad and a Baby on the Way!

Just when Adriana Lima's new fall Givenchy campaign launches, she has to go on bump watch. Lima confirmed she is pregnant by her husband, NBA star Marko Jaric.
They eloped on Valentine's Day and Lima will give birth to a genetically flawless, eternally cellulite-free child this winter. But what about her career? Not that getting fat is a threat, because it is a law of the universe that models never get fat from having babies. But Adriana was so interesting to watch this season! She raised eyebrows when she walked in Givenchy's fall 2009 show. These days she's known for selling $65 Victoria's Secret bras and Maybelline mascara, more so than high fashion work. So now that she's with child, what of the spring 2010 Givenchy runway show? Or the spring campaign? At least she can pull a Heidi Klum and strut onto the Victoria's Secret runway in a giant pair of wings five minutes after giving birth. And there is a clever pun for Maybelline to make about being born with it in here somewhere.

Trend Alert: Teal Green Nails


Lauren Conrad, known for wearing her signature black nail polish, was out and about yesterday at T-Mobile's Sidekick LX launch party in LA debuting a lighter, brighter pedicure of blueish-green polish. Do I spy a trend here?

Perhaps this will be the season for bold, vibrant colors. Celebrities haven't been shy about going beyond the standard classic red manicure; and at an event in March we saw Natalie Portman sport some bright yellow nails, opting for a lighter opaque shade of lemon just yesterday.

As for Lauren, her cool-toned teal polish is fresh and fun, not to mention perfect for both Spring and Summer looks.  I have been wearing a few new OPI Shades, so far a super light lilac one has been my Fav called Done Out In Deco ..Pedicures, here you come.

Love 21 by Forever 21

Forever 21 is on a roll to launch different lines within the brand to expand its empire to cater to all women out there. Earlier this month, Faith 21 was launched in hopes to win some plus-size ladies to shop the brand, it was a good move but after reading the comments it seems to be a bit disappointing. But in 4 days, May 19th, Love 21, their first contemporary line will be released featuring a sophisticated look, butI thought Twelve by Twelve was their contemporary line, hmm, I don’t mind another line. Christian Siriano dishes Heidi Klum’s Maternity Style

Heidi Klum has said that the secret to her sexy pregnancy style was skipping the maternity clothes, but with baby number 4 on the way, Heidi is turning toProject Runway winner and maternity designer Christian Siriano for a little help looking chic.

“She’s all about black,” Christian says. “We made her some pieces from my Fierce Mama Maternity line and she wanted everything in black.” But since it’s Heidi, black is definitely not a boring option — even if it is a little more conservative than the bright colors she usually favors. “I think she’s trying to cover it a little this time,” Christian adds. “She’s getting older and wants to be more sophisticated, not casual. She’s trying to keep it a little quiet.” 

And though her belly might be getting bigger, Heidi is continuing to take great care of herself physically, according to her trainer David Kirsch, “Why should she do anything differently? [Heidi] had a beautiful body all throughout her pregnancies. She’s very disciplined and dialed in to being healthy.

I personally love Heidi, hard work pays off, after her 3rd pregnancy she was on the Victoria Secret's runway not even 2 months later looking amazing! That's hard work and determination...

Revlon may have inked a deal with Jessica Biel this week, but they’re not the only beauty giant adding an A-lister to their ranks. L’Oreal has just announced that they are welcoming two big-name stars to their roster of celebrity faces: Freida Pinto andEvangeline Lilly

Despite persistent internet rumors that the Slumdog Millionaire star would be the face of Estee Lauder, the Indian actress says she is thrilled to be the face of L’Oreal. “I am very moved to be joining the great L’Oreal Paris family and all these personalities: a family I am now proud to be a part of,” Freida says in a statement.

Also stepping in front of the lens will be Lost star Evangeline Lilly, who says, “It is a source of great pride for me to represent a brand whose ambition is to respond to every person’s aspirations to beauty and contribute to the fulfillment and well-being of everyone.” Check back for more information on their dazzling new campaigns.

Rock & Republic’s Recession Ready Line: Plain Wrap


Coming This August 2009...

As this recession continues, life’s extravagance lacking simplicities are consuming our daily lives. We walk places that used to seem cab necessary. We skip out on the espresso and opt for a cheaper, chalkier tasting coffee. We have do-it-yourself spa days instead of getting weekly pedicures...boo I really hate that one...

Completely aware of this recession mentality, Rock & Republic, who you used to drop almost $300 on denim for, is slated to release their rendition of the recession cutbacks. 'Plain Wrap', a very basic “jeans and tees” kind of line will be available this August as a cheap alternative to disposable fashion. 

This recession conscious line is definitely a great idea, but who really wants “T-Shirt” written across their tees or “Windbreaker” written on the back of their windbreaker? The “Stiletto” stiletto I don’t mind so much, but as soon as Plain Wrap hits the street, you’re going to be able to know exactly who has succumb to the recession blues…just look for the guy with the “Jacket” on his jacket.
